Vista Charter Public Schools opened Vista Charter Middle School, pursuant to a charter approved by the Governing Board of the Los Angeles Unified School District on May 18, 2010, for a five-year term ending May 18, 2015. The School opened for the 2010-2011 school year, serving approximately 188 students in grades 6-7. As of October 2, 2014, the School served 420 students in grades 6-8.The School submitted its renewal petition to the Los Angeles District on September 24, 2014 but was notified by its then current landlord that the building it had occupied since its inception was going to be sold. Facing the daunting task of locating a new property, Vista sprang into action and retained our firm to secure bond financing to purchase its approximately 30,275 square foot, four-story building located at 2900 West Temple Street, Los Angeles, California 90026 in the Rampart Village neighborhood from the landlord. The facilities consist of 14 classrooms, two multipurpose rooms, office space and covered parking. In addition, the facilities include concrete- and asphalt-covered playgrounds. Hansberger & Klein, PLC successfully closed an approximately $7,000,000 bond transaction to acquire the property. We are happy to report that Vista began school in the 2015-2016 year in its new home, free from the threat of a forced relocation to a new campus.
